Reg Cartwright is an award-winning painter and illustrator, whose work has been exhibited around the world. He is perhaps best known as the illustrator of 40 books for young readers.

Reg’s artworks show the simple shapes we can find in complicated-looking objects. Even though Reg hasn’t drawn a real owl here, we know what this is a picture of. The simple black and white colours let our eyes focus on all the different shapes he has used. We get an idea of the character of the owl as it looks at us from a high perch.

Our worksheets can be downloaded and printed or they can be used on an iPad or similar tablet.
