A message from Sandra Bruce-Gordon FRSA, our Director and Chief Executive:

“Without your help Paintings in Hospitals will not be able to continue the work we started 64 years ago and at a time, following the pandemic, when our services have never been in more demand.

Sandra Bruce-Gordon FRSA, Director & Chief Executive of Paintings in Hospitals

We currently work with 315 health and social care sites with almost 10,000 people taking part in our creative engagement activities and thousands more enjoying our art collection displayed in hospitals nationally. We support the wellbeing of nurses, doctors, and health professionals of all kinds. We support residents and staff in care homes and the socially isolated. We are working with architects to ensure exhibition spaces for our work in new hospitals and care spaces. We are exploring, with the NHS and private hospitals, how our art and engagement activities can help patients who are undergoing cancer care treatment and those who are accessing mental health services.

We need your help to continue and develop this work. We receive no core funding from the government or the NHS and are totally reliant on grants and donations from people like you. We have a small staff team who work tirelessly every day ensuring our work gets to those who need it. Like Arthur who took part in one of our art activities at his care home and then was enabled to visit his local art gallery. Or our supporter Lillian who says she owes so much to the NHS and has spent many hours looking at the art displayed, finding it a way to detach herself from a life-threatening illness and pause a while to refocus.
