Nayanaa Kanodia is widely regarded as the pioneer of naïve art in India. The simplicity of her style gives a charm to the images themselves and their everyday subjects.

Born in 1950, Nayanaa grew up in Delhi. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College in Economics, winning the National Scholarship of the Government of India.

An economist turned painter, Nayanaa is entirely a self-taught artist, except for a year’s apprenticeship with Anjolie Ela Menon.
