The Trustees of Paintings in Hospitals are delighted to announce the appointment of Sandra Bruce-Gordon as Director of the charity from mid-May 2020.

Sandra is a leading figure in the development of arts, cultural and public services across London and will bring to Paintings in Hospitals a wealth of business acumen and a great track record in delivery from over the past 20 years.

Sandra began her career in Theatre Management before heading up Cultural Services for several Local Authorities. She was previously CEO of Cultura London and has run her own consultancy business, SBG for cultural solutions, for the last decade. Sandra became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in 2018 as recognition of her work on preserving cultural venues.

Andrew Hochhauser, Chair of Paintings in Hospitals, said:

‘On behalf of the entire Board, I am delighted that Sandra Bruce-Gordon is joining us as the next Director of Paintings in Hospitals. We look forward to her taking the charity to the next level, building on the strong foundation that has been created by Ben Pearce, for whose hard work and dedication over the last five years we are most grateful.’

Ben Pearce, outgoing Director of Paintings in Hospitals, said:

‘It has been a privilege to lead Paintings in Hospitals since 2014. We have achieved some amazing things together, culminating in our 60^th anniversary last year. I am proud of how the charity has grown and developed – and how we have contributed to a now flourishing arts and health sector, despite the challenges of our times. I would like to hugely thank the team, the Board and our Patrons for their ongoing support. I am now really looking forward to Sandra taking the charity into its next chapter and I will forever remain a huge supporter of what Paintings in Hospitals does.’
