Paintings in Hospitals presents ‘Creative Care Homes’, a practical and helpful guide to enable everyone to deliver fun and inclusive art sessions within a care home environment.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many older people in care have endured long periods of loneliness, stress and anxiety. Creative Care Homes is a free A-Z of art activities designed to help carers easily develop their current events for care home residents, encouraging engagement, expression, and safe social interaction.

The guide features activity plans, inspiration sources, materials lists, helpful contacts, and more. It is available for free online, as a digital download, and as a printed booklet.

Sandra Bruce-Gordon, Director, Paintings in Hospitals, said: “We hope the Creative Care Homes guide inspires carers to expand on their core activities by taking them through an A-Z of creative ideas step by step. This practical guide, introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, supports artistic activity which is now more important than ever. I hope it will be carers’ go-to tool to deliver excellence in care through art.”

The Creative Care Homes guide is kindly supported by the Baring Foundation.

The Creative Care Homes guide is available as a digital download and as a printed booklet. All the activities can also be viewed online.
