What is the gallery capacity?

  • The Ground Floor Gallery can accommodate a maximum of 200 people standing and 50 people seated.
  • The Lower Ground Floor Gallery has a maximum capacity of 150 people standing and 30 people seated.

How big is the gallery?

  • The Ground Floor Gallery is 60 square metres and has 47 metres of linear hanging space.
  • The Lower Ground Floor Gallery is 77 square metres and has 62 metres of linear hanging space.

When is the gallery available?

The galleries are available to hire together or separately. The standard minimum hire period runs from Monday to Saturday. This includes time for artwork delivery, installation and take down. Find out exactly when the galleries are available on our Gallery availability page.

How do I submit artwork for exhibitions?

We do not coordinate exhibition entries. Please contact exhibition organisers directly. You can find further details on our What's on pages and social media channels.

Can the gallery hold events?

Yes, the gallery can host evening events, such as drinks receptions, informal presentations, networking events, photoshoots and meetings. Available times for this are on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evenings - between 6pm and 9pm. Please contact us for further details.

What are the gallery opening hours?

When an exhibition is open to the public, the standard gallery open hours are between 11am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Please note that on the final day of an exhibition the gallery will close at 4pm. Exhibition organisers may alter their opening hours. If you are unsure, please check with the organiser.

Does the gallery have storage space?

The gallery has very limited storage space. Artwork cannot be delivered to the gallery before the start of the exhibition hire period. Please contact us for further information.

Does the gallery take commission on sales?

No, we do not take commission on any sales in the gallery. Hirers are encouraged to research and provide their own appropriate sales methods before the start of their exhibition.

Do you promote exhibitions?

Yes. Exhibitions are listed on our website and are included in our bi-monthly email newsletter to 2,000 subscribers. We also promote the exhibition across our social media channels. However, hirers are encouraged to promote their exhibitions through their own channels for best results. We ask that exhibitors provide the gallery with proofs of any marketing material for approval prior to publication.

Can I hang artwork from the ceiling or metal beams?

You can discuss specific installation requirements during a technical meeting. Once your booking has been confirmed, a time will be arranged for you to visit the gallery and speak with the Gallery Technician.

Does the gallery have parking?

As in most of central London, parking space is extremely limited. Paid parking is available in the Ibis Hotel, opposite the gallery. Some paid car parks on Southwark Street may also have available space. There is no parking available at the gallery, except to load and unload artworks. Please plan your transport in advance.

Does the gallery have insurance?

The gallery is covered with general public liability insurance in case visitors suffer personal injury due to our premises. However, hirers are responsible for providing their own public liability coverage for their artworks and exhibition. Hirers are also responsible for insuring their artworks and belongings against accidental damage, loss and theft whilst in the gallery. Proof of coverage is required before the start of your exhibition.
