We're looking for a flexible and knowledgeable Collection Coordinator with experience of preparing and installing artworks and a practical understanding of collection management.

  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Salary: £21,500 per annum (pro-rota)
  • Hours: 15 hours per week. This may include some evenings and weekends.
  • Location: London (with some national travel)

The post-holder will play a vital role in the care and management of the collection across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Working closely with the Head of Collection, Loans & Programming you will champion better access to the collection through installing and maintaining artworks at our eight regional showcases, supporting better collection care and documenting our processes.

With a track record of achieving targets and your two years’ experience of working with art collections, you will be able to make the most of your two days a week through your strong desire to get more artworks from our collection on public display, whilst working at museum standards. You will be responsible for preparing artworks for public display, proactively carrying out work on frames requiring remedial work and lead a collection care volunteer team. The Collection Coordinator will have excellent communication, problem solving, practical, interpersonal, and IT skills as well as be able to work well both individually and as part of a team.

Whilst based at the Menier Chocolate Factory, London, it is expected that the post-holder will work off site 2-3 days a month and will travel nationally on a regular basis. Ideally, you have the flexibility to work Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
