Could your artwork feature on our 2021 Christmas card? We're thrilled to announce that our inaugural Christmas card competition is now open for entries from emerging UK artists.

Paintings in Hospitals is looking for an artwork by a talented emerging artist to feature on one of the charity’s seasonal greetings cards. The Christmas card will be sold on the Paintings in Hospitals online shop and will help to raise money for the charity’s work bringing art to patients and carers across the country.

The winning artwork will be selected by a panel of judges and the winning artist will receive a £500 cash prize. The judges will include Sandra Bruce-Gordon, Director & Chief Executive of Paintings in Hospitals; David Cleaton-Roberts, Senior Director at Cristea Roberts Gallery; and Tim Reeve, Deputy Director of the V&A.

The Christmas card competition is open to artists of all career paths, whether professional, amateur, student or graduate. However, entrants must be over 18 and based in the UK.

Submitted artworks should respond to the theme of ‘Winter’. Artworks should also translate well to A5 dimensions (148 x 210 mm) but can be in either landscape or portrait format. The medium of your artwork is up to you.

To enter the competition, download the entry form below and complete it. Send the completed form back to us with a clear, high-resolution image of your artwork. These should be sent to [email protected].

Entries close at 6pm, Wednesday 1st September 2021. The winner will be announced in September.
