Dimensions features the work of six artists interested in the unknown and intangible. All six are concerned with a poetic exploration of the construction and impact of systems of belief and control.

These broader concerns are investigated more specifically in relation to questions such as national and gender identity, ritual and beliefs, the relationship between power and agency, and an explicit engagement with the relationship between contemporary practice and art-history.

The artist’s work across painting, sculpture and mixed-media, but an explicit focus on material investigations into their subjects, and a strong engagement with making is central to each of their practices. The artists also share an interest in employing different versions of reductive practice as a way of concentrating attention on the conceptual and material detail and nuance of their work.
