“The project gave the children a chance to interact without reference to their condition or treatment.”

interact residency

In 2012, Anne Harild was commissioned by Paintings in Hospitals to work as an artist-in-residence in the paediatric department of St Mary’s Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare Trust.

During her residency, Anne explored and manipulated the physical environment of St Mary’s Hospital to create an animation around the ideas of play, geometry and architecture. For four months, she invited patients from the department to engage with her creative process through animation-based workshops.

The project, funded by Outset Family, is delivered in partnership with Imperial College Healthcare Charity and Animate Projects.
